NETAVIS Software GmbH, a provider of server-based video management and video analytics solutions launches NETAVIS iCAT JumpStart: an initiative to commercially include the in-house video analytics in the video management software Observer.
Video analytics integration
“Our vast experience with IP-video and our expertise with video analytics show clearly, that video management software without integrated video analytics is not state-of-the-art anymore. Clients and integrators don’t want to worry about how to put the different components together. They want an easy to handle solution that works.” Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO of NETAVIS Software GmbH.
Since 2007, the video management software NETAVIS Observer includes object based video analytics algorithms while other VMS vendors are still relying on pixel change for motion detection in 2017. What has been a part of NETAVIS Observer for a decade is also included commercially now. In a time limited initiative, NETAVIS includes iCAT Video Analytics licenses with Observer camera licenses to underline the technological advance of its solution and to jump start the broad usage of the new product, sMart Data Warehouse.

NETAVIS Observer video management software
While NETAVIS Observer covers all requirements of an open and flexible video management platform, NETAVIS iCAT Video Analytics improves the overall security and delivers the full potential of intelligent video surveillance. Even elaborate solutions for bi-directional people counting, object counting, perimeter security and more are installed already with every single NETAVIS system out there and can be activated anytime, by change of a license key.
NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse
By now, video analytics also collects business data which vastly exceeds classical security topics and can generate important business value. In-Store-Analytics is becoming a standard application of video surveillance in retail, and also other industries are frequently using IP video for counting, classification and more.
But remarkable contribution to success can especially be derived from video analytics data, if it is provided as user-specific information to guide decision making and action. NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse does exactly that by contextualising security and business data and visualising the information individually-tailored for each user and the tasks at hand. NETAVIS Observer, iCAT and sMart constitute the open platform for security and business, which can truly fulfil on the customers’ demand for added value through IP video.
