Asian Securitex 2010 garners positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike
At Asian Securitex, key international exhibitors presented a wide range of innovative security products
Build4Asia - the region's leading trade event for the building technologies, interiors, electrical and security industries, returns 6-8 June 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year's highly successful edition drew 10,587 trade and business visitors from throughout the region to see 600 exhibitors from a total of 34 countries. By carrying out a groundbreaking ceremony, the show was officially inaugurated by Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet Ngor, JP, Secretary for Development Bureau of HKSAR before an audience of 280 VIP's including trade delegations from China, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and the USA.

Government and the building industry are working towards the trend of sustainability, as Mrs Lam addressed: "With well-developed infrastructure and resourceful human capital and highly efficient exhibition service providers, Hong Kong is definitely a hub for green business and a centre of excellence in the latest technological applications for sustainability. With collective efforts, we will be able to reduce energy consumption and lower carbon footprints, thus contributing extensively to a sustainable environment for our present and future generations."

Immediately following the official inauguration, Mrs Lam and distinguished guests toured the exhibition visiting key exhibitors examining the role of new and green building technologies in the future development of Hong Kong's infrastructure. At the newly launched "Green Zone", an eco-friendly oriented area, exhibitors showcased their latest green technologies and products, such as green building materials, indoor environment quality equipment and more. Simultaneously at the security section - Asian Securitex, various key international exhibitors presented a wide range of innovative and high-tech security products and technologies, such as biometrics, integrated security management systems, CCTV, remote monitoring control systems and etc.

Adding value to the technology displays, a series of conferences, seminars and discussion forums gave participants the opportunity to learn about industry trends and glimpse into the future for the region's building trades.

Asian Securitex 2010 Conference:

Under the theme ‘Security in Emerging Markets - China Focus' the Asian Securitex 2010 conference was officiated by Mr Ambrose Lee Siu-Kwong, GBS, IDSM, JP, Secretary for Security of HKSAR and attracted 250 delegates, including official delegations from China, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. Highly respectable speakers from the local and Chinese industry covered topics such as law and regulatory structure, opportunities, challenges, as well as unveiling strategies to enter the Chinese emerging security industry, which demonstrate the potential of security market in China.

Build4Asia International Conference 2010:

The Build4Asia International Conference 2010 was opened by Ir Dr the Hon. Raymond Ho Chung-tai, SBS, S.B. St. J., JP, Member (Engineering Functional Constituency), Legislative Council, HKSAR, under the theme ‘Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Future.'

IEQ Forum:

The IEQ Forum dedicated to indoor environment quality improvement, gave technology suppliers in the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning industry an opportunity to explain the latest energy efficient solutions to indoor air quality.

Integrate 2010:

Finally, the Integrate 2010 Facility Management Conference under the theme ‘Delivering Value in a Financially Challenging Environment' attracted 160 delegates.
