Dedicated Micros will show its new Infiniti integrated PTZ camera with 36x zoom
The new Infiniti PTZ camera with built-in camera shield is designed for low visibility outdoor applications
Dedicated Micros - part of AD Group - has introduced its new Infiniti integrated PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) camera unit at IFSEC 2010, which seamlessly combines a camera, IR illuminator, integral screen wiper/washer control and built-in pan and tilt mechanism.

The extremely capable Infiniti is available in both analogue and IP models, with up to 36x zoom, and has been designed specifically for outdoor applications where optical clarity and low/zero light operation are key requirements. A major practical advantage of the Infiniti - having the camera and IR illuminator positioned side-by-side - is that, compared to conventional solutions, the point of view of the camera is always illuminated, irrespective of the direction it is facing. In operation, the integrated IR illuminator and Day/Night camera should offer clear visibility even in 0.01 Lux light settings.

The Infiniti also features a built-in camera shield to protect against sun glare and rain. To cope with the challenges of outdoor operation, the robust Infiniti is housed in an IP66 enclosure, contains optically flat toughened glass and a wash/wipe system to ensure the camera offers the best possible visibility at all times.

When it comes to multiple, simultaneous, video streams, the IP model of the Infiniti supports the transmission of MPEG-4 and JPEG images so multiple users can view video streams at the settings they require. Additionally, compatibility of the Infiniti with the latest generation of Dedicated Micros DVRs and Video Servers unlocks advanced camera functionality including Point&Go and Absolute Positioning. In the case of Point&Go, this provides operators with on-screen telemetry control whilst Absolute Positioning uses the on-screen Camera Selection Maps, of a connected DVR, to select with the click of a mouse a camera and move it to view an area of a site.

Crucially, with ease of installation in mind, all Infiniti models are supplied pre-wired, including Ethernet connection directly to the camera head.

Said Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing at Dedicated Micros: "We are delighted to be able to unveil our new Infiniti range whose camera and illumination capabilities, and robust construction, undoubtedly set a new standard for integrated PTZ cameras.

"Beyond the newly launched Infiniti models, which will be available shortly to our customers, we are also looking to enhance the range still further by introducing the option of a Thermal Imaging Camera. This Infiniti 'Thermal' variant could, potentially, support the monitoring of much wider areas by detecting human sized objects at a range up to 900 m. We hope to have more detailed news on the availability of this exciting option in the near future."
