Dedicated Micros launches ANPR optimised camera solutions featuring Hypersense Technology at IIPSEC 2009
The new cameras can be integrated seamlessly with existing NetVu Connected CCTV installations
Dedicated Micros - part of AD Group - used the recent IIPSEC 2009 exhibition to launch its innovative HyperSense Technology in a range of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Optimised Cameras to effectively capture and record vehicle licence plates - even when faced with headlight glare.

Available in analogue and IP models, Dedicated Micros' unique HyperSense technology removes ambient light from a scene only leaving objects that strongly reflect the Infra Red (IR) light emitted by the integrated IR LED array.

Ideal for deployment in a range of applications, such as petrol forecourt monitoring and car park barrier control, the new range includes dedicated ANPR cameras, designed to capture the plate detail of passing vehicles and combined ANPR/Overview cameras to associate colour images of the vehicles with their number plates. Crucially, the new cameras can be integrated seamlessly with existing NetVu Connected CCTV installations without the need for a complete re-design or re-installation of a system.

Said Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing at Dedicated Micros: "Our industry leading HyperSense ANPR optimised camera solutions have been created to unlock a number of significant operational benefits in testing conditions, such as those at petrol stations, where drive-offs are an ongoing issue. The ability to remove ambient light, using a sophisticated in-built DSP (Digital Signal Processor), means that even headlight glare - which can prove problematic in other less capable solutions - does not degrade an image so plate details can still be gathered.

"Another key operational advantage is the ambient scene removal functionality which extracts unnecessary detail from images so speeding up plate finding and improving accuracy. Additionally the IP options preloaded with ANPR software allow analytics to be processed at the camera."

Both the ANPR and Overview Cameras feature an extruded aluminium housing; are weatherproofed to IP66, and incorporate an integral LED array which is 850nm pulse synchronised with the camera
