SightLogix’s CCTV camera range broadens with introduction of WideView SightSensor cameras at ISC West 2010
The camera's wider field-of-view enables broader range of outdoor security applications

SightLogix, Inc., the supplier of outdoor video analytics systems for area and perimeter security, unveiled the latest addition to its line of SightSensor cameras at ISC West. The WideView SightSensor intelligent outdoor camera incorporates a 105-degree field-of-view lens to detect intruders around buildings, entranceways, and other areas that require close-in, buffer zone security. Like all elements in the SightLogix outdoor video system, WideView SightSensor cameras provide a high probability of detection, low nuisance alarm rates and can operate in all weather and climate conditions.

"SightLogix continues to innovate to increase our customers' security while lowering their overall costs," said John Romanowich, President and CEO, SightLogix. "With WideView SightSensor, the same capabilities that give our perimeter security cameras their long-range performance and accuracy are translated into wider area coverage, while leveraging the benefits of geo-positioning and automated PTZ intruder tracking. WideView SightSensor continues to drive greater security coverage per dollar, which has been critical to our customers' success."

SightSensor cameras integrate easily with video management, and access control systems etc

SightLogix WideView SightSensor cameras incorporate a visible day/night imager, wide view lens, electronic stabilisation, on-board image processing, video analytics software, camera control and geospatial target tracking within a ruggedised, NEMA 4X nitrogen purged housing. Multiple on-board digital signal processors (DSP) communicate directly with the image sensor to analyse the scene details of each video frame for better accuracy and extended range. In a typical deployment, WideView SightSensor's 105 degree field of view can detect a pedestrian-sized intrusion over an area approximately 60 metres wide and 40 metres distant, providing a blanket of security looking outward from the asset under surveillance.

WideView SightSensors can also detect objects moving directly below the camera with no blind spot. This is important for protecting close-in areas, including entranceways looking out towards the perimeter on buildings, bridges, fuel tanks, or even the camera pole itself. Like all elements of the SightLogix outdoor video system, WideView SightSensor cameras are registered to the scene with GPS coordinates so they can accurately determine target size, bearing, and speed in order to filter out small animals and blowing debris, reducing nuisance alarms. WideView SightSensor also uses geo-registration to display the coordinates of detected targets onto a sitemap for situational awareness, and to steer PTZ cameras to automatically zoom and track detected objects.

WideView SightSensor cameras integrate easily with third-party video management, physical security information management (PSIM) and access control systems. Flexible and secure communications include 10/100 Ethernet with support for satellite, cellular, wireless (802.11 a/b/g) and full broadband communications, with AES 256-bit encryption and SSL protocol.
