Theia Technologies announces the expansion of its line of high quality, megapixel resolution lenses with the new SL940 telephoto lens. With 5 megapixel resolution, IR correction and its compact size, the lens provides a combination of features rarely found in other telephoto lenses available on the market today.
The new SL940 features a focal range of 9 to 40mm providing 36° to 7° horizontal field of view. With its 5 megapixel resolution, 4.5x optical zoom and 16x digital zoom capability the lens allows the user to drill down into the image capturing subjects in high detail.
The lens is IR corrected, maintaining focus in both visible and Near Infrared areas of the light spectrum and can be used with true Day/Night cameras.
And the lens is only 49.5mm long allowing it to fit in most mini-domes. Many telephoto lenses on the market are 3 inches long or more, often making them unusable in all but the largest and bulkiest dome enclosures.
The lens was developed to offer the security industry another unique product not found today. "Theia developed the SL940 lens to respond to continued security industry complaints about the small offering of good quality megapixel lenses available on the market. The SL940 telephoto lens complements our family of ultra wide undistorted lenses, using patented Linear Optical Technology®, expanding the fields of view available in high megapixel resolution lenses," said Jeff Gohman, President of Theia Technologies.
The CS-mount lens was designed to cover 1/2.5" imagers and smaller including 1/3", 1/2.7" HD size sensors. The lens is available in manual and DC autoiris versions.
Theia demonstrated the lens in booth #6047 at ISC West 2011 in Las Vegas.
