GarrettCom, Inc., an industry leader in providing networking solutions for challenging industrial environments
GarrettCom, Inc sponsors webinar giving information and tools required to design security systems for challenging environments
Overview:

Physical security management is now a fundamental element of overall Critical Infrastructure Protection, applicable to any major industries with distributed and potentially vulnerable outside assets. Capabilities and expectations for security systems have risen greatly, even in more traditional industrial security applications.

Reliance on these systems is high. Reliability is essential. The technology shift in security systems to IP video cameras, Ethernet-based networking, and servers with advanced analytical software has significantly changed the requirements and design of security network infrastructure. Meeting these requirements with special attention to uninterrupted operations, consistent high quality video, and system flexibility requires a careful anaylsis of both the network requirements and the options available.

Key considerations:

  • Network intelligence for bandwidth management, quality of service and network resiliency
  • System security to protect the surveillance network itself from intrusion or misuse
  • Flexibility to accommodate specific layouts and installation constraints
  • Product reliability and network redundancy for high availability in remote and outdoor implementations
  • Manageability for ease of implementation and troubleshooting

In this Webinar, GarrettCom, having partnered with dozens of major security integrators around the world, brings practical examples of successful system implementations to illustrate an examination of critical infrastructure physical security systems, related networking requirements and effective design principles.

This Webinar will give you the information and tools required to design security systems for challenging environments, meeting high availability requirements as well as providing the flexibility and performance needed for modern, IP-based advanced security applications.

Speakers:

TJ Roe, Area Manager for Eastern North America for GarrettCom, Inc.

Theron (TJ) Roe is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer and has been involved with the design and integration of data, video and voice applications for over 22 years. TJ served for 10 years as the Chair of the Standards Committee for the BICSI organization.

Lee House, Vice President of Engineering and CTO of GarrettCom.

Lee House has 20 years experience in R&D and product development, with a focus on LANs, WANs, and IP at companies including 3Com, IBM, and Jetstream Communications. Recently, Lee spent five years as Vice President of Engineering at DiTech Networks where he led an engineering team to develop a new VoIP switch, Session Border Controller, and TDM voice processing platforms.

A Q&A session will be held during the last 15 minutes of the Webinar.
