With its new economic CCTV technology, Visual staff can secure premises and save money as well |
With large portions of the country covered in snow and some areas still inaccessible at the time of writing, many premises are being left unsecured for large periods of time because security guards have not been able to travel to and from locations. The inevitable travel chaos and road closures continue to exacerbate the situation, which has led to some client's looking for alternative security solutions.
One of the many beauties of remote monitoring (and it's associated services), is that it is not governed or hampered by the weather. In fact, all of Visual's services are provided from their purpose-built secure Control Room in Cheshire. With a portfolio which includes everything from CCTV/Alarm monitoring, through to Vehicle Tracking and Access Control, Visual staff can secure and manage premises across the UK from the safety of their British Standard facility.
"We have heard from some current clients who still have manned guarding on their other premises, that their sites have been left uncovered over the recent bad spell for a variety of reasons," says Sales Manager Chris Connors. "This is obviously not acceptable to them and has made them look for alternatives. When you couple this with the rising costs of manned guards, clients see it as an easy decision to replace the guards with a remotely monitored CCTV system."
In a recent Technology v/s Guard cost comparison by a leading industry expert; such a system saved a client £30,000 in the first year when compared with a ‘round-the-clock' manned guard. This was based on a guard covering a site on a 128 hour shift, in comparison to the installation of a 16 channel CCTV system coupled with the annual fees for remote monitoring and a key holding response service.
With costs coming under the microscope even more throughout 2011 and the persistence of the current weather, there has never been a better time to choose technology.
