Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market, reports record attendance at its new purpose-built stand at IFSEC 2008.
Axis' brand new, 130 square metre stand, located at the centre of the IFSEC CCTV village was specifically developed to showcase more than 20 network cameras from the market leader's portfolio. In addition, partner areas were this year occupied by key partners 3Com, Viasys, Proxim, Genetec and IPNRG to demonstrate integrated solutions and applications. Visitors to Axis' dedicated presentation area benefitted from a range of specialist presentations throughout the event including a demonstration from Richard Cronin of RPC Consultants on the deployment of Axis network cameras to help eliminate the risk of ‘slip and fall' insurance claims at the Douglas Court Shopping Centre in Cork, Ireland.
Key directors from Axis, including CEO Ray Mauritsson, hosted a ‘press brunch' at which 38 senior representatives from UK and international professional security publications discussed major developments in the company's strategy, including the recent unveiling of a new co-operative agreement with Bosch and Sony, driving a global open standard for communication between network video products.
The network video market leader also presented its commitment to the new High Definition (HD) compression standard for video images called H.264, showcasing the first of its new H.264-enabled portfolio. There was particular interest in the AXIS M3011 Fixed Dome Network Camera, its 1.3 megapixel cousin the M3014, the AXIS P1311 and AXIS P3301 Network Cameras and the company's range of H.264 encoders.
The number of visitors to the Axis stand showed a notable increase of over 20 per cent on 2007. In addition, Axis' camera solutions were seen by attendees at more than 20 other exhibitor stands at IFSEC this year.
Phil Doyle, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Limited, explained: "IFSEC 2008 was a record-breaking event for Axis. The recent news of our collaboration with Bosch and Sony, combined with the launch of our new portfolio of H.264 camera solutions and market-leading IP surveillance solutions already on offer is delivering against the growing demand for IP-based solutions in the market. Many users are now specifying IP-based surveillance solutions and IFSEC 2008 has proven the ideal opportunity for them to witness Axis' leadership in the market."
