Optex’s REDWALL partnership with Security Services solves its false intruder alarm problems
The REDWALL Partnership Programme is the solution to  installer's difficulties with false alarms

The REDWALL Partnership Programme has been credited as the solution to one installer's difficulties with false alarm activations.

Stoke-based Security Services has been specifying REDWALL detectors on sites for some time, but in the last year made the switch to REDWALL V and has noticed a significant reduction in false alarms.

Technical Operations Manager, Tony Zicari believes the technological advances in the detectors is not the only factor: "We have carried out a number of installations at various sites in Staffordshire this year, some at manufacturing plants for site machinery. There are a number of potential causes for false alarms including passing traffic and swaying flags and trees as well as staff."

"Thanks to the advice of the Optex engineers, who talked us through the process on site step-by-step, the detectors have been working flawlessly and the number of activations has dropped. The engineers also come to our offices in Stoke every year to advice of any changes in the installation process."

A family run company first formed in 1981, Security Services is nationally recognised for the design, provision, installation and maintenance of all aspects of security with specialists in each sector to provide the highest quality service for domestic and commercial properties.

It also runs an alarm receiving centre at its Stoke headquarters and it is here that the improvements have been noticed, as Tony continues: "There has been a considerable amount of positive feedback from the monitoring station and the proof is in the stats, there have been far fewer call outs to false alarms." He adds: "The blanking of zones has been a key factor in this and the training given by Optex experts made the installation very straight forward."

There are also a number of benefits to those participating; Optex approved partners receive detailed product training, free loan of demonstration equipment and special incentives and discounts. They also receive exclusive forward briefings on future product development, and practical hands-on support where required. Certificates are issued to qualifying partners who will be required to attend regular sales and technical product training, and promote REDWALL through their own company websites.

"REDWALL is the byword for quality performance in external detection," says Nigel Hackett, Sales Director for the REDWALL Division. "As is shown by the project with Security Services, Optex is pleased to work with and reward those champions of REDWALL technology with an even higher level of sales and technical support."
