SCTA enters a partnership with Export Development Canada |
Secure City Technology Alliance™ (SCTA), an association of technology and market leaders in the physical security and telecommunications industries, is pleased to announce that Export Development Canada (EDC) has agreed to engage its international customers and projects to help introduce the SCTA offering and solutions. In addition, SCTA will recommend projects to the EDC for financial support. The partnership enables SCTA to actively engage cities, municipalities, large systems integrators and telecom operators to help develop and fund large-scale secure city implementations.
EDC, a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Canada, undertook more than CAD 80 billion in total business volume in 2009. EDC can fund transactions ranging from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions of dollars. SCTA will work closely with EDC to review financing options for its projects, and assess previously funded EDC projects where SCTA technologies are applicable in order to identify additional business opportunities.
"EDC's mandate is to provide commercial solutions and advice to globally-minded Canadian companies to help them succeed internationally," said Eric Siegel, President and CEO, EDC. "The Secure City Technology Alliance is a great opportunity to support a diverse group of Canadian companies delivering integrated, best-of-breed technology to a large and growing global market."
"The alliance encounters many public security projects that, given their comprehensive scale, require advanced expertise as well as secure financing options," said Terry Matthews, SCTA Chairman. "This partnership accelerates the SCTA's ability to move forward with these opportunities by providing extended financing and support."
SCTA solutions are well suited to city or municipal wireless and surveillance deployments, emergency and first responder unified communications, large area sensor management, and large or distributed campus security systems such as those required for airports, seaports, rail and subway networks, power plants and grids, oil and gas installations, industrial centres, hospital systems, educational campuses, correctional facilities and recreational venues.
"We are excited to share this EDC financing opportunity and initiate new projects working with our integration partners and customers globally," said Robert Wu, SCTA Managing Director.
