A surveillance solution for every situation
A surveillance solution for every situation

Exhibiting at ISC West 2011, booth 3086Complete video security and surveillance solutionsWith over 35 years of experience, Optelecom-NKF offers global solutions for the video security and surveillance markets. At ISC West 2011, Optelecom-NKF will show how its IP video systems provide complete, proven, and customised solutions for diverse video security and surveillance applications.A complete Siqura solution at a glanceTo show how straightforward a complete TKH security system can be, Optelecom-NKF will demonstrate a total solution at its booth (Booth 3086). Siqura cameras and codecs will be configured to the high-tech intelligent IP video management system (VMS) from TKH Group member, VDG. Siqura IP and analog fixed and PTZ cameras as well as Siqura codecs use dedicated DSPs to implement analytics locally on unprocessed images. This ensures the best results from analysis software while streamlining bandwidth consumption. VDG's VMS specialises in facilitating the control of and access to devices that compress and process information at the edge of the network."At Optelecom-NKF, we create innovative and reliable video security and surveillance solutions according to our customers' diverse needs," explains Steven J. Williams, Optelecom-NKF's Director of Critical Infrastructure in the Americas. "Our vast technology offering enables us to provide complete and customisable integrated video solutions. We work closely with customers to design and deploy the optimal system for their unique current and future needs. This is something that really sets us apart. We are eager to show attendees at ISC West 2011 just how flexible we are and how hassle-free life can be when you're working with Siqura surveillance solutions and TKH security solutions."The first direct to fiber IP PTZ cameraDue to the ubiquitous nature and the advantages of fiber optic networks, as well as the current migration from analog to IP streaming, Optelecom-NKF is now offering its Siqura IP PTZ dome cameras with a fiber optic connector option. This feature simplifies both the setup and maintenance of camera installations where a fiber network is utilised to overcome long distance limitations.Pressurised PTZ dome for extreme conditionsOptelecom-NKF is currently developing pressurised IP and analog PTZ dome cameras to offer a robust solution for the most taxing situations. It is capable of withstanding intense levels of solar heat (945VA UV protection) and providing high-quality video in environments with extreme levels of moisture, dirt, or pollution (IP67 Ingress Protection). This pressurised dome camera will be commercially available in the spring of 2011.Explosion-proof fixed and PTZ dome camerasThe Siqura fixed and PTZ analog and IP cameras will soon be available with ATEX certified explosion-proof housing covers. These housings are essential for the chemical and petro-chemical industries.High-definition, ONVIF-compliant camerasOptelecom-NKF will also show its high-definition, ONVIF-compliant camera line, a collection of six cameras in providing HD (720p) and Full HD (1080p) resolution images in H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG.Video content analysis for system and surveillanceOptelecom-NKF will put its Camera Health Check video content analysis (VCA) application on display. This programme is integrated into the Siqura S-64 E video server and checks the status or well-being of the attached cameras by monitoring the cameras' position and image quality. When something is amiss, the application triggers an alarm to promptly alert operators, thereby guaranteeing quality video material while at the same time reducing unnecessary maintenance costs.Largest selection of fiber optic solutionsThe Optelecom fiber line is one of the largest assortments of fiber optic equipment in the world. Since Optelecom-NKF is determined to ensure optimal performance whenever and wherever it's needed, all of the Optelecom fiber products are field-hardened to withstand the harshest conditions and most extreme temperatures. Optelecom fiber products also support fiber to IP transitions, making it easy to use them in hybrid networks.Visit us at ISC West (Booth 3086)While this array of examples demonstrates Optelecom-NKF's ability to fulfill the needs both of its customers as well as the industry, it also shows how Siqura solutions are essentially dynamic and can be tailored to any video networking need. Consequently, the Optelecom-NKF booth (Booth 3086) may prove to be the best place for an open and lively conversation about how best to customise a video surveillance network for a specific situation.

Understanding the security needs of small shops
Understanding the security needs of small shops

Complete solutions for small retail using Advantage Line products from Bosch Bosch has a deep understanding of surveillance applications, with experience in satisfying the needs of customers and installers, large or small. Drawing on its heritage of high quality technology and manufacture, the ‘Advantage Line’ products from Bosch are ideal for smaller installations where both professional security capability and affordability are essential. Small shops are a typical application area which can benefit significantly from Advantage Line solutions. Priced to fit a limited budget, they give shop owners a high quality system with just the right amount of features. Available directly from distributors, they also offer installers the price / performance choice they always wanted for these types of installation. Creating an effective small shop security system Whether installing an analogue or IP network system, Advantage Line offers all the components needed to create an effective small retail security system. For a small shop, a typical set-up would start with two IP or analog dome color cameras for a general overview. These discrete options enhance overall security and enable staff to concentrate on sales rather than watching the shop. The addition of a 19” confrontation monitor at the entrance advertises the presence of CCTV on the premises, maximising the ‘deterrent’ factor of the installation. At the cashier desk an IP / analogue dome colour camera can keep a protective eye on staff or on the till, while another dome camera above the stock entrance door guards against unauthorized access. If the shop has an outdoor area or car park, one or two infrared dome cameras or IP 200 Series infrared bullet cameras are ideal for helping identify potential criminals. Overall, very few cameras are required due to their great image performance. System management can be handled by a 600 Series video recorder, which can display playback and recorded video from up to 8 analogue cameras. The 600 Series allows multiple cameras to be monitored from a single location, useful to shop owners with several outlets. It can also stream live video over the internet, so scenes can even be viewed on a smartphone. Alternatively if the system uses IP cameras, video recording can be safeguarded by taking advantage of their internal SD-card capability, allowing on-board video storage or central storage on NAS. The images will be shown by using a PC and Bosch free software. Quick and easy installation and operation Product integration, set-up and operation are all designed to be quick and easy, with intuitive menu driven interfaces that save time and frustration as well as cost. Also, high reliability ensures the lowest maintenance requirements minimizing total cost of ownership. Advantage Line analogue and IP CCTV products deliver high Bosch quality and reliability. And they also deliver excellent images. As part of a complete system, the solutions enhance security for staff and customers and their high quality images extend their use to other areas, such as demographic studies or evaluating customers’ in-store buying habits.
