The acquisition of security lighting specialists Derwent has allowed Bosch to expand its extensive CCTV portfolio

Following a spate of vandalism and incidents of cable theft within various parts of Network Rail's infrastructure, TEW Plus Ltd instigated a successful eight week trial of an intruder deterrent system using Derwent new AEGIS White Light LED illuminators. The recent acquisition of security lighting specialists Derwent by Bosch Security Systems has allowed Bosch to expand its already extensive CCTV portfolio to satisfy and even wider range of applications and needs.

During the day intruders are detected by sensors, which trigger a loudspeaker to issue a stern warning to trespassers to leave the site. However, at night the sensors trigger the powerful AEGIS UFLED White Light illuminators, which flood the scene with visible light. A day/night camera captures a colour image of the action and sends a text alert and emails pictures over the mobile phone network to alert that there is an intruder.
