Parking at Dublin Airport has just become easier for the estimated 320,000 customers who park their cars in the QuickPark car park at the airport each year. An innovative new online reservation system developed by ParkMagic, the Irish mobile payment and wireless technology company, integrated with the Net2 access control system from Paxton Access has transformed passengers' parking experience.
www.quickpark.ie is a new online reservation system developed and powered by ParkMagic. Customers logging on to the website can now reserve their car parking in advance, making airport parking a swifter and more enjoyable experience.Passengers logging onto the website enter the date, time of arrival and duration of their stay and can then check the availability of car parking spaces. Customers making a pre-paid reservation receive a pin code that is entered into a Net2 keypad on arrival at QuickPark where a space will have been pre-allocated. The same pin code is used on exiting the car park. By using a pin code customers no longer need to have with them the payment card used in making the booking, nor obtain a ticket at the barrier, which can be so easily mislaid during a trip.
John O'Sullivan, Managing Director of QuickPark, said, "You can book your seat on the airplane in advance, check-in in advance and even book your luggage in advance so why not your car parking space? ParkMagic worked closely with us to develop an easy to use, secure system which not only allows the car owner to quickly park their car on arrival at the airport but which also means no more queuing at the machines to pay for your parking when you return from your travels."
Adam Stroud, Sales and Marketing Director of Paxton Access, is delighted with this imaginative application of Net2: "Net2 is ideally suited to this kind of imaginative Internet-based database application. Developed specifically for the network environment, Net2 can be integrated easily into any similar scenario for local or remote access."
Net2 is a network based access control system that can simultaneously manage tens of thousands of users accessing several hundred barriers or doors. Multiple sites can be networked over TCP/IP making Net2 ideal for large organisations or third-party monitoring companies. Users' access rights and system parameters may be administered centrally or locally as desired.
Net2 is installed at a variety of large locations throughout the UK including sports stadia, public sector buildings, such as hospitals and schools, and large commercial sites.
